Goodyear ElectricDrive GT Tire

Tires purchased 6-25-23 / I was very happy with my new Goodyear ElectricDrive EV tires until a few weeks ago. About three weeks ago at about 8K miles of wear I suddenly felt a very violent vibration while driving on the freeway. It felt like a wheel was coming off but I pulled over and found everything to be tight. I figured the recent storms had cause wheel weights to fall off so I had the wheels balanced right away. The vibration was gone for about a week and then suddenly it came back again while on the freeway. I had the wheels rebalanced and then two days later the vibration came back again. I read the reviews on this site and asked my tire shop to check for a failure of the adhesive holding the foam noise barrier in place. They found that the tire causing the vibration had loose foam. Thank you to the people commenting on this review page because this is a serious problem and you helped me find it with my tires. Goodyear immediately needs to recall these tires and stop building them with foam until they figured out the bad adhesive problem. This vibration is not an annoyance but instead it is violent enough to cause drivetrain damage if not immediately addressed. Please avoid buying these tires until you can verify this adhesive issue has been fixed or that they have quit building these tires with foam inside. An annoying vibration can happen time to time but this is a very violent vibration.

I have been using these on my model Y for a year. They have been quiet and have great traction. They also look a little more aggressive than other tires. others have also noticed.

I spent the first few months of ownership trying to diagnose why the tire shop said the tires were balanced and my alignment was fine, but the car was shaking so bad on the highway I thought I was going to lose a tooth. Eventually we found out that the foam inside the tire had detached and was clumped up like a ball of underwear inside. There is this huge piece of low density foam that wraps all the way around the inside of the tire to dampen the noise, but they use absolutely terrible adhesive or something so it will slip right off after only a couple thousand miles or less.

Tesla Model Y Long Range. Vibration is off the charts, as if they're unbalanced, but they're not! It's so bad, I have to get rid of the tires.
