Pretty good little unit

Puts out some serious heat, used a basic honeywell non programmable linevolt thermostat.
The honeywell 5-2 programmable did not work properly (Product #52-8890-8). Say you set the temp to 21, as soon as it reaches 20.5 it will start kicking the unit on and off so it does not overshoot 21.
I give it 4 stars as after 1 week the fan started making noise. Exchanged it and hope this unit works better.
Use 12/2 with ground wire.

Amazing heat

I don't really understand why - but 2000 watts from this seems to heat way faster and way better than 2000 watts from a traditional baseboard heater. I suppose that it's the fan forcing the heat out and down.
I installed two of these (both controlled by the same wall thermostat) in an open living/dining room area - one optioned for the full 2000 watts, the other optioned for 1000 and the results are quite amazing.
One word of caution. During the day, these units seem to run very quietly, but at night we notice them a lot more.
In our situation, we have them on an electronic programmable thermostat, set to shut down at night and come back on in the morning. In the bedrooms, we have traditional [quiet] baseboard heaters, should it get too cold at night.
So I wouldn't install these in a bedroom but, for anywhere else in the house, they're great!

Semble être très prometteur pour une salle de bain efficace, silencieux, pas trop difficile à installer, apparence acceptable. Seul problème, il sort d'usine en mode 2000 watt alors il faut lire le livre d'instruction pour le convertir en 1000 watt

A: Your thermostat is doing that, trying not to overshoot its target temperature by kicking on and off. These only work for baseboard heaters. Get a basic thermostat or one that supports this kind of model.

Q: How can this be wired for 1000w only? Noma #52-2533-6 Noma sells this as a 1000w/2000w heater? I only want for 1000w but am not sure of wiring. The instructions call for both red and white wires to be together with power source. Has anybody tried this?

A: Your don't hook the red and white together for 1000W. You leave the second element unhooked.

Q: pictures can you tell why the pictures for the wall heater garrison are not the same ... 1 is garrison and the other 2 are noma and they are not the same wall heaters

Q: Compatible Thermostat? Can you please provide a compatible thermostat for the Garrison wall fan unit? I have tried 240V programable and non-programable (suggested by the1-800 support) and I still have the on-and-off fan cycling. PLEASE HELP. Thank you.

A: Our 052-8890 is compatible with the Garrison Wall Heater 240 volt. To control your fan cycle you need to follow the procedure indicated in our instruction manual on page 9 (Cycle length). **** Generally set to 15-second cycle (Std) as it provides better temperature control. However, set to 5-minute cycle (Fan) if you have a fan-forced heater to prevent premature fan motor burnout. Fan appears on the thermostat’s screen when 5-minute cycle is selected.
