ALL MANUAL OPERATIONAL

This product was a very device in its day. Problem is now: it STILL has no speach input. It still will loose its way in the cities and in heavy cloud and weather conditions. Stills falls off the glass in colds weather. Still will not spell check ( addresses have to absolutly correct) Still need a computer to download maps and update its limited and dated software. Its still all lite hollow feeling cheap plastic. I think Google maps has fast over taken this product. BUT: for a trip to Nova Scotia from Ontario driving all night through areas with no cellular coverage ... It was a life safer for me in northern NB and Quebec and parts of Cape Breton. It DID find me and instruct me how to get back on the right roads. ( My cell ph. was useless to me and failed in those times. So; I would recommend the product if you are planning a long trip. And take a warm blanket too. They both are valuable that way.

This unit does not have a short distance screen. Some times it takes me way out of my destination.

A: The Drive 53 & Traffic now comes preloaded with a Map & Software subscription. You will be able to update your subscription at no additional cost for the life of the device.

A: You can charge the battery in the Drive 53 using either the included car charger cable or connecting it to an optional power adapter accessory, such as a wall power adapter. The device cannot be charged by a USB cable in the vehicle unless the provided vehicle power cable was a USB cable and adapter. When connected to a computer or vehicle via USB cable, your device may present a message stating "The attached cable cannot currently charge your device." This behavior is normal. While the device does receive enough power from the computer or vehicle to remain powered on and to operate, it does not receive enough power for the battery level to increase.
