Poor longevity

a year ago

Stopped working just under 2 years of use. Freezes and doesn't shut down with vehicle power. Tried all methods on the garmin FAQ. Customer service days I can buy a "refurbished" model for 75% price. Don't pay the premium price for a low quality product. Better off buying a cheaper dashcam and replacing it

No SD card

i bought this camera but didn't know it needed an SD card. It doesn't come with one and you can't buy one off of Garmin. They do NOT ship anything to Canada! They'll ship to Algeria but not Canada. Add another $20-40 to the price. Try to find one immediately, no. Stupid.

Good product, this also needs a micro SD card that nobody tells you about at the store. Add another $20.00 cost . Also there is no paper manual, to aid with setup you need to go online for setup steps for all operations EG sync with android or Apple phones.

Q: In searching for a reliable Dash camera and in reading the reviews Garmin seems to have quite a few issues, with some happening right out of the box. What is being done to overcome the issues? I am looking to make a purchase very soon.

A: Hello, Garmin has a well established track record of producing reliable consumer electronics products including our Dash Cam Series. In some cases, software updates are required to ensure the device is functioning optimally and if you experience any issues with your Garmin device you may reach out to Garmin Product Support at 1-866-429-9296 to speak to a representative. You are also covered by our 1-year warranty against defects. I would also add that very few people take the time to write positive reviews - we sell tens of thousands of Dash Cameras in Canada every year, most of those customers are getting what they expect from Garmin!
