Nice at first but lose power after a month

Worked well for a month and is pretty. However, after a month the light stopped working very long and is not as bright. At first it would go for about 6 hours but after I had it for a month it was less time. Now it's been 2 months and the light lasts only 2 hours and the light is weak. At this rate I assume it will soon stop working at all.

Beautiful to watch the different colours in the ball. Have given as gifts and was lived by all. I have had mine for five years and have three of the on my balcony.

Adorable Light

I bought one of these lights on sale and placed it in my large plant pot on my back deck. I don't get a lot of sunshine, but this thing lights up well. I will definitely be buying more of these on sale. Totally unique and adds a nice charm to my patio.

Q: how long do solar batteries last ?

A: This is a good question because I always thought that since the sun recharged the batteries, they would last forever. This appears not to be true. I've had to buy several packages of replacement batteries specially made for solar lights. It would be very nice if the manufacturer would make solar lights so that they charged up their batteries forever. Another thing I've noticed is that the original batteries that come with most solar lights are cheap ones and don't last long.

Q: Can this unit be left out over the winter? Will the water in the bottom section expand and crack the unit? Can't locate the distributor to ask this

A: Personally, I would not leave these lights out during the winter. Part of the globe is filled with water and I'm sure it will freeze. While it may not explode, if it freezes, it will crack the plastic globe. The manufacturer put water in it to reflect the light as it changes colour. I have 10 of these, and I love how the lights change colour and the colours are bright as well, but I really don't think the water adds anything. I had 2 of them that leaked the water after a full summer of use. I have also noticed that condensation can form in the upper part of the globe and this has led to rust and a bit of mess in the lights that did this (not all of mine did this). The water is sealed into the half globe and there is no way to put antifreeze in it.

A: The liquid inside is pure water, so yes the liquid will freeze when the weather gets to the freezing point.

Q: How do I remove the rechargeable battery cover?

A: From my understanding to remove the lens you must place a firm grip on the lens while also placing a firm grip on the top housing, You will then Twist the lens & top housing in opposite directions to disengage.If this does not work, please return to place of purchase for exchange.

A: As the bulb cannot be replaced, you likely need to replace the battery. This particular item takes a AA solar rechargeable battery. This item can be found at Canadian Tire, SKU # 052-5024. Thank you.
