A: Someone answered here that you have to pull from the ball up, and you’ll find an orange pull tab. I’ve had these lights for a few weeks and had no clue so whoever posted that, I thank you! They work well once you find the tab to pull out!

Q: how do they turn on? do I have to do something to make them turn on or should it be automatic? just bought four, they've been out in our sunny backyard for three days and none of them light up in the dark.

A: I have purchased two different kinds over the years and they are slightly different. I believe there is a small piece of plastic in the solar panel piece that needs to be removed. This has been inserted to conserve the battery until they are purchased, Also, there could be a little switch on the underside of the base that needs to be switched to the "on" position.

A: How long it takes to charge and how long it lasts It Depends on the amount of sunlight that falls on the light during the day. Ours are in semi shade, which is not ideal, but they still come on for several hours in the evening.

A: They need to be plugged into an outlet. They are not solar powered.

A: Previous answer is partially correct: they ARE made of glass -- but they're 3 inches ACROSS (diameter), not 3" around.

Q: I bought the large crackle lightslast year. Not working now. They have Ni-MH AA 200mAh 1.2 V batteries which aren't available at CT store in Simcoe. Staff said try 300 MAh. No success. They don't light. I cleaned the contacts. Help!
