This item, while it looks good in the packaging, is very cheaply made. The lid and the seat are very thin plastic. When the unit is closed and I sit on the lid, the unit makes squeaky sounds. At the back of the unit are 2 small lidded boxes that open and into which the top of the screws are placed. When I first flipped one of the lids open to insert the screw, the lid detached from the box. In its favour, the slow closing mechanism works fine. Even though the unit says it's made in Canada and I like to buy local products, I won't be buying another one of these units from this company.
