Suction installation doesn’t work well in our shower. Especially with the curved rod, very difficult to install. The end caps are huge; 2-3 times bigger than others.

Easy to Install and Very Sturdy

I have installed a few different curved shower curtain rods in the past. This For Living Adjustable Aluminum rod is the best of the bunch. It is a quality item very nicely finished and comes with clearly labelled parts and hardware. I was able to install it myself as you can hold it in place with tension while you level and align it. In my case I chose to use the included screws do a fixed mount. As it is adjustable for the size of the opening there are transitions on the rod but they are smooth and the curtain easily moves past them. Just the right amount of curve and very sturdy feeling. Given the aluminum construction, it should be rust free and long lasting.

I checked other retailers for a curved shower rod and even bought and installed a different brand. Once up I didn’t like its finish or how the curtain holders slid over it, I returned it and bought this one from Canadian Tire. It goes together nicely and installs pretty easily. The adjustable rods fit together well and have a tapered plastic piece that lets the curtain holders slide easily over the joins. I would have given five stars except for the big bulbous covers that hide the mounting brackets. They are too big, don’t fit really snugly and look cheap.

A: It's a permanent rod. You drill to attach it in place.

Q: The description says “dual mount” & one of the responses here specifically says “can be mounted via tension”. Has anyone at C T actually looked in the box? Or at the instructions? doesn’t look like it can be tension mounted. Am I missing something?

A: We will try that. My impression with “tension” mount is that there is a spring or some kind of pressure from the middle toward the ends to keep it in place on the wall. Hopefully it works (as it’s a Christmas present for my daughter & it would be a shame to have to return it). Thank you.

Q: No one has answered me re tension mounted, so I tried asking another person via a reply to his question - but CT disallows. So how to find out? Directions don’t look like it’d work, but item description & CT response both say yes to tension mount.
