Good, but not useful

This is actually a very good tach. I used it previously with a 95 Toyota which runs a traditional 12v coil. However a bought another one recently. It does not work with the distributorless ignition on a ‘04 Honda. Basically it’s not going to work on any modern car. 12v coils are extinct. Wish I knew that before I spent almost $90. Canadian tire should probably be selling a tachometer which is made to work on cars made within the last 20 years.

Q: Will this product work on my 99 Tercel?

A: The Tachometer requires minor custom work (modification of the vehicle... including re-wiring) to install on ANY vehicle. This will work on a 99 Tercel. Note that this product is not a direct fit or designed to be an exact replacement for the factory part.

A: This tachometer will not work with a 3-cyl engine. We recommend product number# 34-0158, which is available through special order. Please see your local store for details.

Q: equus3-3/8 black tachometer does it have a setting on the back where you and program it for different motor configurations? how long is wire on the indictive pick up and is it included ? I am thinking of on a single cylinder 660 yamaha rhino,

A: This tachometer can be used on many different engine configurations. However, this is not recommended for outdoor use on motorcycles/ATVs/UTVs etc.
