Q: Is this fire safe for kids to roast marshmallows?

A: Yes these firelogs are safe to cook over. They are made from 100 percent recycled waxed cardboard boxes which are used to transport fruits and vegetables to grocery stores. They have been safety tested and burn cleaner than wood. Description is on the box.

Q: Are you allow to burn these logs in montreal with the new laws started in 2018 (enviro log) ( in my Fireplace)

A: Enviro-Log produces 30% less particulate matter than firewood, but the regulation is rate of emissions from an appliance design (not the Fuel directly). These type burn restrictions affect all fuels; wood, gas and firelogs. We would recommend to check with a fireplace installer on what options are available against your current design to determine if emissions would meet intent when using Enviro-Log.

A: The smell referenced in is your comment is not a characteristic of Enviro-Log Firelogs, nor representative of how our product performs. Enviro-Log Firelogs are made using recycled waxed cardboard boxes, used by the produce industry to transport fruits and vegetables to grocery stores and restaurants. These boxes are coated with a FDA approved food-grade wax which provides a moisture barrier for the cardboard. These boxes are not part of a garbage collection process nor are they comingled with waste materials. Enviro-Log diverts these waxed cardboard boxes to its manufacturing facility where it is sorted and sent through a proprietary recycling process to create Enviro-Log Firelogs. The result is an environmentally-friendly firelog which burns cleaner than wood, emitting 30 percent less greenhouse gasses, 80 percent less carbon dioxide and 86 percent less creosote.
