Bought one as xmas gift 2022 for my mom. Now she uses this rather than plugging in fan on her stove. Bought one for my cottage a month ago ... wow. Should have bought one a long time ago

A: It would depend on thickness of mantle but I would say probably not, I think it is designed to sit directly on wood stove for best efficiency

Q: What happens if the fire place exceeds the temperature rating? Do you need to monitor?

A: The functionality and longevity of the Ecofan is very much based on temperature and placement. The Ecofan requires the direct heat from the stove top (within the recommended temperature ranges stated in the manual), it also requires to be positioned on the stove top where it will receive enough cooler, room temperature air to flow through the fins on the top of the Ecofan to prevent overheating. Overheating will permanently damage the Ecofan and will also void the warranty. If the stove was to exceed the recommended operating range, both the motor and module can be damaged. We do recommend monitoring the stovetop with a stove top thermometer.

Q: How do I install it? I do have free standing wood stove with fan but the fan sounds like it's going to stop working soon.
