too much fine lint gets through

humidity is fine if you have dry basement \house in winter like I do but the lint screen lets too much fine lint through and everything in my basement ends up covered in lint dust. Wondering if using some type of vacuum filter would be good. As it is I have stopped venting inside the house.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Works well, simple, -1 star for build quality

I have an old house which is dry and cold in the winter. It makes sense to send the hot, humid air from my dryer back into the house. I doubt it will get to a point where humidity will be a problem, but I could imagine it being an issue in some houses either in a warmer area or with better vapour barriers, etc.

Q: Does this come with any hoses?

    2 Answers
    • A: No hoses come with it. You just put it in the exhaust line from your dryer where you would like to divert the warm moist air to.

Q: with all the negative reviews regarding excessive moisture and mold, can't you just adjust the damper so that it is only partly open into the room? Not fully. wouldn't that be a solution?

    1 Answer
    • A: You could and that may solve that issue but the damper only has detents at fully open and fully closed. There’s nothing to hold the damper part way. You could tape it or glue it in place I suppose.

    • A: Oui. La chaleur, l'humidité et l'odeur seraient évacuées dans la maison.

Q: Lint dust in dryer Air How do you keep the lint dust and humidity out of the dryer air? Will the lint dust cause respiratory problems in the house? Do you have a HUMBE installed on the intake air in to your home for the forced air furnace?

    1 Answer
    • A: The dryer is equipped with a lint trap which is supposed to catch the majority of lint. This product also has a lint screen to further reduce lint but it is not an air filter so very fine lint dust will make its way through the screen. There is nothing this product can do to eliminate the fine lint dust particles. Only a supplemental air filter or high quality air furnace filter will be able to remove this dust. The air leaving a dryer will always be humid as a result of water evaporation. This product does not have anything built into it to remove the humidity of your dryer exhaust. The only thing that can be done to remove excess humidity is to run a supplemental dehumidifier. Since we've been selling this product, we are not aware of any cases of respiratory illnesses caused by lint dust from this product used under normal conditions.
