Product Details

The Cooper Discoverer Snow Claw is a winter tire designed to provide reliable grip on snowy and icy roads. Its optional stud placement enhances traction in extreme winter conditions, ensuring superior performance when you need it most. A rigid central rib boosts stability in all weather, while Snow Groove Technology captures snow within the grooves for improved traction, confident braking, and precise handling. Longitudinal grooves efficiently channel slush and water away from the tread, reducing the risk of hydroplaning.

Accepts Studs

This tire can have studs installed to provide additional mechanical traction on icy surfaces. Studded tires are prohibited by law in many provinces. Ask at your local Canadian Tire store.

  • Best suited for light trucks and SUVs

  • Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol on the tire’s sidewall indicates it’s approved for severe snow and winter weather use

  • Elastic and soft tread compound allows the tire to maintain consistent performance in extreme cold

  • Mud & Snow (M+S) rated tire

  • Wheels sold separately

Questions

1 - 1 of 1 Question

Q: How does the Cooper Discoverer Snow Claw compare to the AT 4S or older version AT/W as a winter tire?

1 Answer
  • A: While the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S is a great 12-month tire (as was the Discoverer A/Tw), it is meant to be run year-round. The Discoverer A/T3 4S does not provide the level of snow and ice traction that the Discoverer Snow Claw does. If you live in an area the regularly falls below 7°C, we recommend a dedicated set of winter tires like the Discoverer Snow Claw. The Discoverer A/T3 4S is a great alternative for those who are unwilling to deal with 2 sets of tires, or who can stay in when there is a winter weather advisory. However, if you’re looking for optimal winter performance, Cooper would urge you to outfit your vehicle with the NEW Discoverer Snow Claw tires
