Bad lighting system, again

The hi/low light switch never worked on low. Now, trying to replace a bulb, the metal bracket holding the light socket broke. Unrepairable. As many others noted, the light system here sucks big time. It's nearly impossible to align the bulb properly. This faulty engineering design should be changed quickly.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Good but light switch/bulbs not working properly
a year ago
I’ve had this BCS330SSC model for 5 years now and used the GU10 50W halogen bulbs. Although they worked the range hood would get really hot so I always used the switch on dim. Recently though the lights and dim mode stopped working even with a new bulb in. Is there an LED bulb that would work and not get so hot?? The fan and fan switch works so I doubt it’s an electrical issue.

Thank you for your question and review of the BCS330SSC range hood. The halogen bulbs have been replaced by LEDs. Our LED suggestion is part number S1110531. This is still the GU10 base bulb.

Not worth the cost

Though quiet on slow to start, our motor is now grinding. As a property maintenance person, their cheaper models have better lifetimes.
It was a serious disappointment to have to get a dual light level unit at this price that still is designed exclusively for incadescent bulbs. Halogens are so dangerously hot for such an item especially with the location of switches.
No, I do not recommend this product.

As for the light feature, this hood was originally manufactured for use with the 50 watt, 120 volt, GU10 base, MR16 halogen bulbs. We can recommend an LED replacement, which is our part number S1110531.

Should it not work in both hi/lo settings

Thank you for your review and question on the BCS330WWC range hood. This hood uses two shielded halogen bulbs which are 120 volt, 50 watt maximum, MR16 or PAR16 with a GU10 base. This picture does show this being a GU10 base bulb, so it does look to be correct. The light should have a high and low setting. A: Can operate both ductless and duct. Ductless requires purchase of charcoal filter HPF30 (52-8566-2).Under cabinet.
