awesome lights

these are great for people with SAD or depression..they light up the room with a natural light instead of that yellow light... very nice. good on the eyes, especially in the morning because they gradually light up... two thumbs up!

Yes, I recommend this product.

What's the point?

These bulbs may indeed use less current, but their durability doesn't seem to be any better that the incandescent type. Most of our bulbs at home are of this type, and they pop as frequently as the incandescent ones. So considering the higher cost, they are far more expensive to use. If they lasted longer, then they'd be OK until LEDs become more cost effective. LEDs will indeed last, but these are truly a waste of money. So we'll try other brands to see if they fare fetter than Noma's, which wouldn't surprise me. We still got some incandescent for now to replace the duds.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Good Buy - Good for the Garage

I now use these bulbs in the garage for my work light (trouble light). I used to use the 100 watt work bulbs that cost a fortune, and when the back of the trouble light touches your skin it burns since it gets really hot. These 23 watt fluorescent bulbs take about 20 seconds to get to a full (100 watt brightness) but stays cool to the touch of the trouble light and the way the bulb works throws the light better.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Still Going...

We have a number of these in our house and haven't had to replace any of them. They've stood up to everyday use far better than standard bulbs and given us the savings.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 6 of 6 Questions

Q: What are the specs of the bulb? What is the lumen / watt conversion? What is the spectrum?

2 Answers
  • A: The 'SPECs' :: Lumens per watt consumed : 100 Spectrum : White Light, with a peak at the 'bluer' or 'cool white' region, approx 4100K Colour Rendering Index: >= 80 ** This is important as this Index ratio is how close to an incandescent (CRI=100) does this bulb deliver full spectrum white light. *** White Light is the SUM of all colours. The Ballast will get warm with use, as a portion of the electric power is lost in the conversion to drive the fluorescent lamp. (observations later)

Q: Est-ce que cette ampoule est recommandée pour usage à l'extérieur?

Translate with Google
1 Answer

Q: Is it safe to use this bulb outdoors (inside front lawn fixture) under extreme cold weather?

1 Answer
  • A: Although not specifically designed for outdoor use, this bulb is safe to use as long as it is used in a completely enclosed fixture and not exposed directly to water or moisture build up. As well, the minimum operating temperature is -15 degrees Celsius. You may find the bulb will take longer to light up and will not reach full brightness in weather colder than is.
