Q: Does the iron shut off when not in use?

A: Thank you for your interest in this Black+Decker iron. This iron features a 3-way automatic shutoff. However, this only means that the heating element turns off after the iron has not been used for a certain length of time. The iron will continue drawing power as long as it is plugged in, as there is no power switch or button to shut the iron completely off. All of our irons should be unplugged when not in use.
