Excellent quality/price ratio

After experiencing the pain of receiving a few shots off the centre hard plastic shell of my old shin guards, I decided I needed to upgrade - especially since I play defence and I realize this will be a recurring theme. I started looking around for better quality shin guards, and I ended-up with sticker shock at the price of top-tier quality pads. $240.00???? What?
I stumbled onto these and was impressed by the width of the hard plastic shell and the wrap around the leg peripheral padding. I've worn them in game situations and found they were very lightweight to boot.
The reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is that the bottom Velcro strap isn't long enough to reach fully around the leg and fasten to the other side of the pad with more than a few centimetres coverage. This is especially true if you wear the guards over the tongue of your skates, as I do. It's not a showstopper; the strap still works, but it could be improved by lengthening it.
Overall, I highly recommend these shin guards.
