Q: Someone painted walls in a house with this paint, and now we have to paint over it, is ot possible? I did a test spot and ot scratched off

    • A: Yes, you can paint over Armour Coat paint (an oil-based paint), but proper surface preparation is crucial for good adhesion. You must clean the surface, then roughen it with sandpaper to create a porous surface for the new paint. Apply a high-quality oil-based or bonding primer to the sanded surface, let it dry, and then apply one to two coats of your chosen topcoat, allowing proper drying time between each coat

Q: Can it be used on wood

    • A: It’s an enamel so actually, it works great on exterior wood projects. I’ve painted countless things with it including wooden sides on utility trailers work boxes things like that. Nothing lasts forever but it’s an all purpose paint for everything.

Q: Can this paint be thinned to paint a auto frame with spray gun? If so what would be the best and ratio?

    2 Answers
    • A: Yes it can be thinned. The best ratio would be 20% if you are using a cup gun.

Q: Is priming necessary when painting (Court Grey) over factory painted metal roofing? I'm painting some very old painted roofing that has some rust patches, but mostly is just quite faded. The can says "priming is not needed on most surfaces". Thanks!

Q: This is probably a silly question regarding Armor rust paint. Do I need to lightly sand (rub with scotch brite pad) in between coats? It's been a month since my 1st coat

    • A: Yes if it has been a month then a light sand or the scotch pad before you coat

Q: How long does this paint take to harden? I've painted some equipment parts several days ago and paint is dry to touch, but not durable.

    • A: Hi Mule, Great question! Our Armor Coat Rust Paint dries to the touch in 3-5 hours and to handle in 10 hours. However, full cure can range from 14-21 days, depending on how many coats were applied. You can place a fan in the room to help speed up the dry process as temperature, humidity and air circulation is key.

    • A: What about using a spray nozzle for metal flake or similar? A little larger for the paint to flow.

Q: can we come with my metal colour paint and match it Can we mix colour with metal paint

    • A: Hi Vons, Unfortunately our Armor Coat is ready to use and cannot be tinted to colour match. It is loaded with enough pigment that we don't believe it will accept anymore tint.

Q: Hello. Can I tint Armor Coat Rust Paint (Aluminum Color) I would like to tint Armor Coat Rust Paint, 3.78 L (Aluminum Color). I have an almost full 3.78 Liter can of Aluminum Color . I would like to tint a quart black. Is that possible or will it cause a reaction or paint not to dry properly.

    2 Answers
    • A: Aluminum paint is slightly different chemical make-up than regular alkyd/oil. In my exepriance untintable ... unless you try a full industrial paint store, one that deals in expoxy, 2 part urethanes etc... they will have special colourants that may mix in...good luck
