A: Hi, the puck will be your main sanitizer. We do recommend that you test your water on a weekly basis and adjust the pH, Alkalinity and Calcium hardness according to your readings. If needed, you may have to shock your pool with a granular chlorine on a weekly basis or when the temperature gets very warm, to destroy the excess of contaminants. Thank you

Q: Are the 3 in 1 super pucks slow dissolving? I am a 1st time above ground pool owner ... opening pool for the 1st time this week ... besides the pucks what else do I need to open the pool?

A: yes the pucks are slow release - if you need fast release use the granular products - as for opening the pool all pools are not the same - but like hot-tubs if you are on city water ready to go once filled - on well water buy test strips - add chlorine, alkaline and pH to at least get to the bottom of good range. Always check pool companies on line and take the best of the best from their expert advise.

Q: Can I use any unused pucks next year? Is there an active shelf life?

A: I cannot see an expiry date on the pkg. I had a bucket with 6 pucks left over from last summer that sat outside in our deck box all winter that we used when opening our pool. They were not as white as the new ones, and seemed to dissolve faster than the new ones do, but worked. Hope this helps.
