How to use exercise balls/medicine balls?
Exercise balls are large PVC plastic or vinyl balls commonly used to help strengthen, condition and stretch your body, in addition to improving overall balance and core stability. Exercise balls can be used to perform pelvic thrusts, sit-ups, ball lifts, planks, squats, leg extensions and many more exercises.
What size exercise ball do I need?
When seated on a properly sized exercise ball, your feet should be flat on the floor with your knees comfortably bent at 90-degrees. Alternatively, you can determine the right ball size based on your height. If you’re under 155 cm, a 45 cm ball would be best for you. If you’re between 155 to 170 cm, opt for a 55 cm ball. If you’re 171 to 185 cm, choose a 65 cm ball. And if you’re taller than 186 cm, look for a 75 cm ball.
Can you use an exercise ball as an office chair?
While exercise balls are an excellent tool for strengthening and stretching your body, they do not for make good office chairs and may potentially increase overall discomfort. Instead, opt for an ergonomic office chair with proper back support.
