Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Water-Based Primer-Sealer provides excellent adhesion to glossy surfaces without sanding. This 946-mL/1-quart white primer and sealer is great for interior and exterior surfaces. The outstanding low VOC and low odour formula resists blistering, peeling, and mould and mildew growth. It works great in low temperatures, inhibits rust and seals tanning bleed. This water-base primer-sealer from Zinsser is designed to be a sealer for all surfaces.

Good primer, but more expensive than expected

This primer is thick and protects drywall, at least at my project. The old can I started with worked well, so though I did not use all of the second can, I expect this product to be there for me when I have a new project.

Purchased it for Knotty Pine and as the Biz was about 40% more - all I did was 3 coats on the knotts and directly and then 2 coats on the rest of the pine. Sealed perfectly!

I used this to cover a large varnished door jam and trim. It covered very well. Less odour than other bonding primers that I've used

A: Hi, Great question! Our Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer is not strong enough to hold up on it's own and does require a topcoat paint. The primer dries to the touch in 30 minutes and can be recoated in 1 hour.

A: It has excellent adhesion to glossy paint, glass and ceramic tile. Surfaces should be clean.

A: Hi Michelle, Our Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 is not recommended for blocking knots. We recommend our Zinsser B-I-N Shellac Base Primer-Sealer instead. For exterior surfaces, spot prime with B-I-N on persistent bleed from knots and sap streaks before full surface priming with a water or oil base primer. B-I-N is not recommended for whole surface exterior application or for application to floor or decks or surfaces subject to immersion or prolonged contact with water. As well, some knots are very aggressive. We recommend cleaning the knots with methyl hydrate or Mineral Spirits and then sand.

A: Based on my experience, it can be used on any finish. However, if the room is a kitchen or people were smoking, wash it with TSP first

A: Yes it can be applied to your electric fireplace, remember the thermal expansion of those materials will not exceed the paint’s durability.

A: BUY BIN, this will seal drywall and crack fill so the paint won't keep soaking in. It won't hide stains or any discoloration.
