Hard to find anywhere Good product at a good price

Bad magnet and impractical.

First off the magnet is pretty weak even though it says it’s strong, the cord is pretty short and it says to only use the heater in doors which defeats the purpose of having it on. Lastly the heater is supposed to be taken off before driving which is tedious and hopefully you don’t forget the block heater on your car.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Excellent heater

Great heater and no worries regarding it coming off as the magnet is strong. I installed one on a 2001 Honda civic with 240K on it and the engine doesn’t make any noise on startup in the winter.I have bought two of these now. It’s also nice that you can easily remove it and put it on another vehicle.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Q: good as a block heater? I have a car that doesn't come with a block heater. Would this be a good product to buy so that I can actually start my car on those cold mornings? If it isn't, what would be a better product to use?

  • A: Before you buy this unit, try using any small iron magnet to see if it sticks to the block or oilpan of your engine. If the magnet doesn't stick, the heater won't either...because your engine block/oilpan is made of aluminum. In that case, you should get a block heater installed.

  • A: This is basically a universal magnetic electric heater. No specific fitment is required. Will attach to any oil pan if not obstructed.

Q: would like to know if this can be use on an oil tank to prevent getting water in it

  • A: It will not get the oil hot enough to boil the water out, so the answer to your question is no. The oil will dissipate the heat quicker than the product can create it at a temperature near boiling.

Q: can this unit be mounted on a 2002 vw beetle with a gas engine?

1 Answer
  • A: Hi, thank you for your question. From the research I have done, a 2002 VW Beetle uses an aluminum oil pan, rather than a steel unit. The vehicle would need to have a steel oil pan in order for the magnetic block heater to correctly attach.

Q: I would like to put in my car this one. how do i do that?

  • A: Hi, thank you for your question. As long as your vehicle uses a steel oil pan, this 'magnet' style block heater will attach directly to the underside of the oil pan.
