Great "budget" casting rod

I'm new to baitcasting, so didn't want to spend a fortune on a rod. I can't say I know what an expensive rod is like, but after trying this "budget" rod out, it seems perfectly fine to me. This is not like say, buying a budget car, where you're like... Ok, so no leather, heated seats, etc. I used it and didn't feel like there is anything missing/lacking. It's a perfectly good medium action rod. I went back and bought a second one while still on clearance. Great deal!

Great rod for casting crankbaits and top water

Exactly what I was looking for to match up with an older baitcast reel that didn't fit another rod properly. This is a great rod for cranking squarebills or top water baits at Pigeon Lake for Largemouth and Smallmouth bass. It was actually perfect for the Choppo top water bait which caught most of the bass on a reaction hit Canada Day long weekend. Being close to 7 feet long it was great to make super long casts with it. Paired it with 30 pound braid and it was lights out for the bass. HAHA Great sensitivity along with some better than expected backbone to horse the bass out of the weeds that were about 4 to 5 feet under the surface of the water. Would love to get another one once it goes back on sale. Note that it is not "Medium-Heavy" but a "Medium" indicated on the rod itself for full clarity. Hence why I was pleasantly surprised by the good amount of backbone, so very close to a Medium-Heavy rating.

Yes, I recommend this product.
