Worked until it didn’t.
This trimmer worked very well for 2 summers. This year it will not run at all. The battery is at full charge, and the weed trimmer will not run.
Tried a new battery, still won’t run. My other battery powered yard works tools have been going for years on the original battery. Guess this one’s a lemon.
Waste of money.

Poor Quality

Had for Just over a year, used maybe a dozen times and now battery will not charge at all. Frustrating last year with only being able to use it 15 minutes max at a time. For the price of a replacement battery I'm better off to buy a gas trimmer.

I am sorry to hear of the battery issue you are experiencing, lithium-ion batteries will last up to 2000 charge and discharge cycles . Regarding the run time, you can expect consistent cutting performance on a full charge, approximately 15-20 minutes. We recommend removing the battery from the charger when not in use. This battery will not develop a memory and can be used and charged at anytime without issue. With proper storage + care of the batteries the longevity can be maximized. This battery can be purchased by following the link here http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/yardworks-replacement-20v-2ah-battery-0602068p.0602068.html If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact our customer service toll free number at 866 523 5218 to speak to an agent direcly or send us an email on csr@sunrisetools.ca We look forward to assisting you!

Never buy another

This is my 2nd. Thought my 1st one was just defective but no...both units stop auto-feeding within 90 days. Then you have to keep opening them up to pull the string out manually. Bought a Ryobi last year and no problems.

Hello rven The trimmer will release 1/4" in of line each time the trimmer is turned on and off. To test if this feature works we suggest turning the unit on and off 10x and see if the line length extends. Remember to always have the guard and the metal flower guide on at all times while using the trimmer. This will prevent the line from snapping off and going back into the spool housing.
The trimmer will need to be periodically turned on and off to advance more line, if you're using the trimmer on hard surfaces or near the fence more line will snap off. You will have to remember to auto-feed (pushing the on and off switch) more frequently.
If you are still experiencing the same issues please just contact us so we can book a repair if needed for you. You can contact us at 1 866 523 5218 or email us @ csr@sunrisetools.ca.

Great in theory
This machine is great in theory if it actually worked. Nowhere on the box does it say it lasts only about 2 minutes before you have to give it a break or charge it it. After two minutes of use it stops working on you. I put it on the charger and it says battery is still full which makes no sense. After a 10 minute break it works again for another 2 minutes. If you can do your whole yard in 2 minutes go for it. I think the problem is the battery.. they need to put better batteries on these things and then it would be worth it.

Good trimmer
Bought this on sale. It works great and battery charge holds good. My lawn is 30' x 40' and I have no problem with trimming the sides with one full charge. Good product so far.

Q: can a lithium battery be overcharged?
I left my yardworks trimmer battery in the charger for a week and it doesn't work anymore.

A: If it wont hold the charge, try charging the battery to full and running it fully dead. Do this three or four days in a row and it should bring it back to full battery life unless its toasted then you'll need a new one. A battery should be fully charged every month and then fully discharged. Always fully discharge before recharging unless the product manual states otherwise. Hope this helps.

Q: My line won't auto advance, what could the problem be?
1 Answer
A: Hello Crazydog63,
Please be advised that automatic feed works when the start trigger is depressed, 1/4 of an inch of line will dispel. You can check if this feature works by depressing the start trigger on and off about 10 times and see if the line length changes. Then check the button at the bottom on the side of the spool housing, push the button in, if the button springs back that's normal, however if the button does not spring back there could be an issue. If following these steps do not resolve your issue, please contact us at info@greenworkstools.com, so that we may assist you better.
