The auger is excellent value. Used it on the farm to get fence posts holes started and it did a great job as a tool in a pinch for this purpose. It will be great for planting tree seedlings next spring.

Best thing for planting tomatoes

This is super slick for planting tomatoes, so much easier than a trowel. My wife and I planted 70 tomatoes today in just over three hours. I would have taken 2 days, digging by hand. Some reviewers said the shaft broke. I have no idea how they did that. It is steel. However, I just go about 3-4 inches deep, pull it out with the dirt, and then do it again. In no time, I have the perfect tomato hole. This also keeps the drill from overheating and helps with getting out rocks and things. Great tool.
