Perfect for camping

Bought a few months ago and have taken it camping as well as have used it around the yard. It's light enough to be used confidently with one hand, and isn't fatiguing to use over time. Its a do-it-all tool that I've used for fire making, felling small trees and splitting fire wood with. Over many hours of abuse, the head is still tightly secured. My only gripes with the tool are that it is a carbon steel, so it'll rust (or patina if you take care of it) and the head was coated in a clear brittle substance that didn't last long enough to rust-proof the blade. That said, the carbon steel is super easy to sharpen, and having a patina isn't the end of the world. Its cheap and well built: a perfect introductory axe or even primary axe for anyone who does camping like I do :)

A good axe for small jobs

A nice little axe. Not meant for large jobs. More of a small firewood/kindling chopper. Nice and light so perhaps good for hike in camping trips

Ok axe but not for big jobs.

Axe was ok. The weight was good but the handle was way too short. Made it like an oversized hatchet.

Great Axe

Tested this axe from the "Tested For Life" program. Great axe very lightweight and easy to handle,Great for moderate yard and trail use, would be nice if the blade was a little sharper but it still does the job, I would recommend this product.

Q: How sharp does it come? Does it come with a sheath?

  • A: The Jobmate 24” axe comes ready to use, therefore it is very sharp. It comes with a protector for the blade but an actual sheath can be purchased in store.
