Good but clogs up easily
First the good stuff, it is quiet, light, and one battery last for about an 80x60 foot area but since you get two you are all set there. I like that I have five height settings to work with, it gives me some flexibilityMy neighbours (and pets) like the quiet functioning of this machine.
I works reasonably well but it could use some improvement. Moist grass sticks to the walls of the machine and it clogs it up requiring that you constantly turn the machine over to clean out the blade area. If you don't do this, it blocks the exit to the bag and stops picking up the grass and starts to leave rows of cut grass on the lawn. I find myself doing this cleaning out of the blade area several times during one cutting session.
As another person has stated, the charger has started to make some kind of noise (not fan noise) when it is in use. It still charges but this noise is annoying and seems to cause the unit to heat up somewhat. For now, it's not an issue, but I suspect it will give out before too long.
I am on my third season with it now and overall, I like it except for its inability to deal with moisture.

40V Brushless Excellent
got a great price on owning my very first cordless mower (many other cordless tools). Light extremely easy to use after years of gas and corded electric mowers. Very agile, light, easy to turn. Cut my longer grass (first spring cut of lawn) very well. The bag looked small but holds more than less efficiently shaped bags on old mowers. Bagged the grass cutting very well with Mulch plug removed. Battery charging issues disappeared with complete mounting onto the charger (cured problem mentioned in other reviews). Charger fan is noisy but charger is quick and efficient when battery is properly/completely mounted.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Very Pleased

This 17" lawn mower is so quiet and light -very easy to maneuver around tight spaces *no cord-Yay*. The handle is the only assembly required. A push of the button, pull back on the handle and it starts right up. What a pleasure after struggles to start gas mowers. The grass catcher holds a huge amount of clippings. Love that there are two batteries that can be used with other 40v Yardworks products. I cut our large back yard in about 1 hr using only 1 battery. Tip for novices-The green light under the "error indicator" is supposed to flash until the battery is charged. Great for any person looking for a light, easy to operate lawnmower.

Shaggy Cut
The mower is easy to operate, light and reasonable quiet. A single battery is more than enough for our small to medium sized lawn. The only drawback I see is that the resulting cut lawn is rather shaggy looking. It doesn't produce a very even cut. Some blades of grass are still rather long after a cut. I even took the blade in for sharpening and it didn't make any difference.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Great after 3 seasons
I have bought many cordless mowers in the last 12 years or so, wanting to get rid of anything gas operated as much as I can. This one, I bought 3 years ago, and it is still going strong, battery charge still last enough to mow all my yard (13 000 sq. ft). Ok, I need both included batteries to mow the whole thing, but I get to start and finish in one go. It is very quiet and does a great job at mulching. Works better on dry grass (duh), but will still be working good on less ideal condition.

Q: The supplied blade does not mulch very well. Is there a mulching blade available?
I tried my first cut on relatively thin grass and set the mower to the second highest setting. The slightly thicker areas left trails of cut grass. The grass was dry too.

A: For mulching the blade should be in a low setting. But if your grass is tall, you may wish to cut then mulch on separate passes.

Q: can this mower be used without the bag
Can this mower be used like a regular mower - without the bag or any mulching plate? My old electric mower just shoots the cut grass out the side. Will this mower do the same?
1 Answer
A: The 60-1790 Mower does not have a side discharge chute. If the customer is looking to keep in the cordless 40V family, the 60-1792 GW 40V Mower would be an option for side discharge.
If the voltage platform isn’t a requirement, the 60-1793 GW 60V Mower and 60-1702 GW 80V Mower also have the side discharge feature.
Q: What are the dimensions of the package the mower comes in, for transportation purposes? And what is the weight of the package?
1 Answer
A: The dimensions of the package are :
28.8" D x 20.6" W x 16.7" H
It weighs approx. 48 lbs.

Q: is a proper mulching blade available?
the blade provided does not mulch the grass very fine, leaving behind a small swath of long grass clippings.
1 Answer
A: This mower comes with just the one blade option.
To mulch, ensure you do not have the bag attached and the rear cover closed, as the mulch is built into the rear cover.

Q: This mower came with a second battery, how long will the r emplacement last without being charged.
1 Answer
A: From the factory, the battery comes with a 50% charge. If left on the shelf without using or charging, it will take the battery a year and a half to be fully discharged. If are referring to runtime, during normal mowing use with a fully charged battery, you can expect a runtime of up to 30 minutes per battery.

Q: Les batteries pour ce modèle
Bonjour,
Est-ce que dans 3 - 4 - 5 ans ou plus, les batteries seront-elles toujours disponibles ou devrons-nous se procurer une nouvelle tondeuse lorsque les batteries n'offriront plus l'autonomie désirée pour couper le gazon ?
Merci
