The hose connection to the unit is terrible from the standpoint that the hose must be bent and it cracks.

Smooth and effortless

Straight forward and easy assembly, can easily be pushed around in order to store and reels in very smoothly and effortlessly. Would have given 5 stars is the connecting hose had been longer. Since I personally didn't put it together, I didn't notice if there was a lock on the wheels but if there is, awesome, but if not there definitely should be.

Putting the Cart before the Hose

Like every informed consumer, I do research before buying. I wanted a metal hose cart on four wheels, with capacity for my longest, thickest hose. This cart delivers. It is light, but stable. The connections are solid. If you make sure the reel is perpendicular to the hose, it rolls up quite easily and evenly. The connector hose is adequate, but I’ll likely put a longer one on next season. The basket is handy for pliers, nozzles, and connectors. Recommended.

Wonderful hose cart!!

I purchased this hose cart for our extremely long hose. I was worried it would be able to accommodate it. But it does! The cart was easy to assemble and is extremely easy to maneuver around my yard. The winds up and unwinds with ease. The little basket is great for storing my gloves and the hose nozzle. It's lightweight but very sturdy.
Yes, I recommend this product.

A: Yes, it has been improved. The manufacturer upgraded this unit for this year and moved from pneumatic tires and went with a solid spool which will eliminate some hose kinking complaints.

Q: it leaks I have replaced the O rings on the swivel and it does not swivel freely .It seems very stiff the connector that attaches to the water supply blows off with water pressure and does not tighten . It just keeps spinning. Any suggestions

A: We have replacement o-rings available, you can also try the Danco brand #12. If the swivel isn’t turning, the o-rings you have purchased are likely too large. It also sounds as though you may not have put the retaining clip back on if the swivel is coming apart. A: The 59-3489 rolling reel cart should have the 4.10x3.50-4 tire size molded into the side of the tire. Tire tube Product # 060-3964 in the Outdoor Power Equipment parts section is a 4.10x3.50-4 tire tube, which will fit.

Q: Types of hoses Can I use a 3 inch Fire Hose on this reel. It is about 30 meters long and about 3 inch wide. We use this to ice a rink. thx

A: The hose reel cart is designed for use with 5/8” hose and will support 300 feet of this hose type. The hose reel cart has never been test with 3” wide fire hoses, this would not be considered a typical residential application and, in our opinion, the hose reel cart would not support this type of hose. Since the 3” wide fire hose is usually stored flat without any water inside of it, when water is applied to the fire hose it will expand to its 3” width. If water was applied while the hose was still wrapped around the reel, it is likely that the expansion of the hose would damage the reel. If the cart was being used to transport and store the flattened 3” hose (with no water applied to the hose) and it was fully reeled off the reel before water was introduced, this application might be acceptable.
