Great product

I have had this trimmer for a couple of years now. I have left it out in the shed over the winter with a battery that was not fully charged twice now and in the spring was able pick it up and use it without charging it first. I don't have a huge yard so one charge a year usually last for the amount of trimming that I do. I would give it 5 stars but for me the only thing that I don't like is the auto feed. I have had a gas trimmer for 20 years prior to this purchase and I am use to tapping the trimmer to advance the cord. Otherwise I do like the trimmer and never had a problem with the battery or function of the trimmer.

Poor battery reliability gives this a failing grad

I bought this product with the accompanying battery and charger based on the feature that the same battery could be used with other tools. At first everything was fine and the following year I bought the hedge trimmer tool. Then the following year - just a short time after the battery warranty ran out - the battery stopped charging. I've since read the reviews on this site about the battery and most have complained about the poor longevity of the batteries - which costs almost as much as the tool. I am now skeptical of the Yardworks lithium-battery based products and feel misled by the advertising regarding the multi-purpose function. I now have 2, almost new, tools to replace.

Ce produit a bien fonctionné la première année. La batterie ne se rechargeait plus la deuxième année. J'ai ouvert la batterie. Le fabriquant indique 18.5 V alors que Yardworks indique 20 V. J'ai écrit au fabriquant. On m'a informé que la batterie n'était pas conçu pour ce type de travail. Cherchez l'erreur... J'ai aussi essayé de rejoindre Yardworks par courriel. Impossible d'obtenir une réponse. Je ne recommande pas ce produit.

Q: motor overheating I bought this trimmer about 6 months ago. It has worked well. However, now, whenever I use it, the motor overheats and smoke comes out of it. What's wrong?
