Don't bother

Infuriating and inefficient. Constantly plugging from wee tiny branches and any green material just turns into a paste that clogs the chute. Was faster to spread branches out on my lawn, run them over with a mulching lawnmower, and rake up the remnants. Wasn't able to return it, so donated it to an elderly neighbour who has the patience to feed one single twig at a time and unclog it every 5 minutes. Disappointing experience.
No, I do not recommend this product.

We are sorry for the experience. However, kindly note the main purpose of this shredder is to cut the wood branches. Wee tiny branches and fresh leaves will not be very suitable for this product to work properly.

Super value for urban use

I bought this last year. Have used it to shred cherry branches and other hardwood up to ~1" dia. It's a super buy for the cost (CTC usually offer big discount). There are a few issues but can be overcome:
(1) I had lots of clogging problem at the start. Simple solution: never push the bin all the way in. Leave ~3" gap. The chips will be spread more evenly in the bin and you can see when it's full.
(2) Only works on branches, can't use it for leaves as it will clog. The shredder has 2 revolving knives, it pulls the branch in, chops into small piece, and throw out into the bin below. Soft material won't get pulled in.
(3) Impossible to remove knives for sharpening. Seems the heat from repeated use seizes the mounting screws. I had to file them while installed in the machine.
Yes, I recommend this product.

J'ai acheté cet article y'a 2 semaines et j'ai été très déçu de la vitesse à l'aquelle on pouvait déchiqueter. Il y a seulement 2 petits trous pour y insérer les feuilles et on doit le compacter avec un bâtonnet enplastique. Quelle perte de temps!

So I bought this on sale yesterday. I think it's definitely worth it on sale, but I'll have to see the longevity to know if it was worth the full retail price. It will actually do a 1.5" branch but the feed hole is sized to prevent oversized branches, so at the maximum size it has to be smooth and straight-little branches sticking out will stop it. It's not really useful for leaves. You have to push them through with the feed stick, and any volume would make you crazy. Finally, there is a safety bar that prevents you from sticking your hand up the discharge chute. I removed it after about 10 minutes because it causes it to plug up very quickly.

Tout les résidus de jardin de plantes de fleurs reste bloquer dans l'appareil.Je ne vois qu'une utilité c'est de broyer des petites branches d'arbre de petite dimention. Mais alors le titre de déchiqueteuse de jardin inscrit sur la boite est trompeuse.

A: This may not be a direct answer, but the blades can be reversed, each blade has two cutting edges. The blades also can be sharpened.

A: I just cut down a pine tree that had an ample amount of pine cones still on the branches. The branches I chipped were about and inch and they had smaller branches still covered in needles and small pine cones, sometimes around 20 on a branch, this machine made short work of the branches with needles and pine cones. With the needles and if the pine cones are green as mine were, you may find it necessary to unplug the machine and unclog it frequently because of the high moisture content in the material being chipped. The more moist the material the more it is prone to clog the openings. It is very easy flipping open and unclogging the machine. Takes about 3 minutes.

Q: cut size What is the size of the cut size of the output waste? 1/4" or more?

A: The chipped pieces are about 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch generally. But it depends on the material being chipped. I found when chipping fresh pine with needles and green pine cones some of the mulch would be very fine. When chipping a drier wood like an old lilac the chips could be as big as 1/2 inch. The lilac because of it's twined nature puts more strain on the machine and you may want to chip smaller branches at a time.

A: I cut down a pine tree that had growing leafy vine wrapped around the branches. This chipper mulched it all. I did not have to take the vines of the branches.

Q: Does it pull a full 15 amps? I would be using this at my trailer, with an extension cord plugged into a 15 amp outlet. Will it blow breakers?

A: I used it plugged into a home 15 amp socket. I also had a 20 foot 14 gauge extension cord attached. I ran my Canadian tire 20 gallon compressor and my stereo off the same socket. The stereo was running constantly, but the compressor and machine were not be used at exactly the same times. I had no problem and tripped no breakers with 1 1/2 inch branches.
