Eco fee ripoff

Went to puchase a 3 pack of butane for a stove that we use, got hit with a $10 “eco” fee at the till for which there is no warning of on either the website or in store. Not sure if this is the govt charging this or the store but its not worth paying almost double the cost so I told them to take a hike.

The eco fee doubled the cost and it is non refundable and also does nothing to address the disposal of the empty canister. It is just a so called climate change money grab.

A: I'm not sure for one steak but a single butane can last for 2 hours with a high flame and it can last an extra hour or two with reduced flame.

Q: This question has been asked 4x times, and still unanswered: Are these butane canisters protected from possible explosion with a CRV (countersink release valve)? If not, when does Canadian Tire plan to replace this product with a CRV version?

A: Hi there, This product is protected. They are made with TSR (Triple Seamed Rim Vent Release device). This device will automatically releases gas when the inner pressure reaches a critical level, alleviating the possibility of explosions.

A: Yes. Culinary torches that attach directly to the butane can use the same ones like these that are made for portable stoves. I've seen refillable torches and assume they probably use the butane cans made to refill lighters.

A: The Woods Butane 227g,pack model and the butane cartridge for refill are two completely different items. The refill butane gas cartridge are built with a long nozzle to refill the kitchen/craft torch, while Woods Butane 227g has a short nozzle to attach to a portable gas stove. A: The Woods butane can be used with torches that are compatible with nozzle type cartridges, however, we don't sell torches that are compatible with nozzle valves.
