Good with balls, not so with pucks

The net is of great quality and it is overall solid. We use it on our backyard rink and any good shot with a real hockey puck on the post will dent it and remove paint. So it will do a couple winters but expect to have to change it in 2 to 3 years. My son is 7 years old and will dent it with a wrist shot too. It is made to be played with balls I guess, not pucks. Excellent for street hockey however.

Q: How much does this net weigh boxed? Am asking as in Japan but will traveling to Vancouver and want to carry one or two back on the plane but nowadays overweight baggage is a small fortune; so is having it sent over. Thx in advance

Q: How does the netting attach to this net? Just curious if the netting is attached to the top of the lower frame bars or does is loop through the lower frame bars? Trying to determine if the netting is going to drag and wear under the frame when moving if it's not lifted up.

Q: Can I confirm this is for real hockey pucks on ice? Also, do the screws lock in some how? My current one the screws are stripped after a year. Thanks in Advance :)

A: This product is designed for the street hockey player. We recommend that an official street hockey ball / street hockey puck, tennis ball only be used for this item. The use of an official on ice puck will result in premature wear and tear of both the nylon webbing and steel tubing. The current product design has eliminated the screw assembly and replaced it with a brass snap clip mechanism. This version was part of the CTC in 2008 / 2009 program. I would suggest that carefully removing one of the screws and replacing them with galvanized screws will stretch the life of these pieces. Note – if the net is left outside, moisture will rust and weaken the stock screws.

Q: How big is the net unpackaged? I was just wondering how big the box containing the hockey net would be? I'm traveling on foot and don't want to be carrying something so huge. I know for sure that the parts will be unconnected, just wondering if the packaging is small or large.

A: Our consumer packaging for our 72" net is 43"x20"x5" and weighs 43lbs. It is quite a large item so we wouldn't recommend carrying it far by foot.
