Yes, this clock can be used as a radio other than just an alarm clock. Karen, to use the radio feature please review the following instructions. NOTE: The FM radio antenna is a thin black cord on the back of the clock. For the best performance, please make sure that the cord is fully extended and is NOT twisted. Otherwise, to use the radio - #1 Press the POWER ON button. The radio station frequency will show on the display. NOTE: Pressing the POWER button will turn the radio on to the last used radio station. #2 Press the < or > button to select a radio station frequency. TIP: Press and HOLD the TUNING < or > to quickly advance the radio station frequency. #3 To turn off the radio, press and hold the POWER button for 3 seconds. Karen, that is all that is required to operate the radio on this clock. However, should you require any additional service please reach back out to us so that we can assist you further. Q: Is this an alarm clock/radio that plugs into the wall? The picture and description do not show or describe any cords.

A: no. even though it says plug in part way down the specifications, it doesn't say what kind. it says on the box USB electric operated, USB power cord included but the electric outlet adapter NOT included. so you get a usb cord to plug into the back of the clock and no adapter to plug it into the wall. have to get a 5v 1A or 5v 2A power adapter or a usb outlet adapter to plug it into the wall or plug it into a computer or something to use it.

A: Both. Alarm is either radio or buzz. When you shut it off, it’s off. But you can use the radio Independent of the alarm.

A: Hi kaydenn. Good morning and thank you for your question. I would be more than happy to assist you with your inquiry. To set the alarm for your Westclox MODEL #80227CN clock, please proceed by doing the following: First, Press either ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 for 3 seconds until the HOUR & MINUTE digits start to flash. Second, Press the HOUR & MINUTE buttons as needed to set the ALARM TIME. Please note to make sure to set the hour with the correct AM or PM time period. Third, Press the same ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button once, to SAVE and EXIT the alarm time setting. Now as for turning the ALARM ON and OFF, you would proceed by performing the following steps: First, to turn the alarm ON, Press either ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button. Check the Alarm ON indicators. Second, To turn the alarm OFF, press the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 buttons as needed until the indicators are no longer illuminated on the display. Q: Can you tell me why the battery back up does not work(it’s doesn’t run any part of the clock/radio). It’s as if batteries are useless.

A: The batteries are for when the power goes out. It keeps the alarm clock working till the power comes back on.

A: Hi Katie. Good morning and thank you for sending us your question. Our Westclox Red LED Digital FM Clock Radio is a 12 hour time formatted clock only and can not be set up to a 24 hour format. However, our Westclox Digital Wall Clocks (MODEL#'s 55006, 55014) and our Westclox Alarm Clocks (MODEL#s 70026 and 70045MS) are some of our clocks that can be set up to display either a 12 or a 24 hour format if you are interested in having this feature.
