I keep getting my finger pinched, ow!

I bought these and started using them for a couple of months now. The locking mechanism shuts every time you clip, and I've also pinched my finger twice now just from squeezing the clipper down and either sliced skin off or gotten a blood blister. Better me than the dog I guess but that seems like a design flaw. The skin on my fingers shouldn't be able to get caught just from squeezing as intended. I've used plenty of nail clippers and never had this problem.
No, I do not recommend this product.
