    Polybutylene to 1/2" Pex Adapter

    Seems to work good, directions on the bag is poor, doesn't say which ring goes on the polybutylene end and which goes to pex, The ID of the two pipes is different so not hard to figure which way the connector goes. Copper coloured ring goes on the poly end.

    Transitions from 1/2" polybutylene to 1/2" pex worked great.

    Had a water problem in my recreational trailer which is plumbed with polybutylene this coupling worked great to transition from PB to Pex. The PB is marked PB2110 if your in doubt the internal diameter is a bit bigger than Pex.

    Q: Same Pex Crimp Tool for both rings? Can the same Pex crimp tool be used to crimp rings on both Pex and Poly-B?

    Q: Why are the crimp rings different colors? Is it important that the cripm rings are fitted onto the correct pipe type? If so, which is which? There are no instructions !!!!

    • A: Both crimp rings are made out of copper. The legislation is that copper crimp rings used for Poly-B do not require any color or markings in particular. On the other side, copper crimp rings used for PEX pipe have to be black or have a black logo or mark on the crimp ring. That is the reason why the two colors in item 63-1480 (510131) Poly-B / PEX coupling.
