this was exactly what I needed. The area where the toilet roll holder needed to go had studs all above it. After drilling some useless holes, I gave up and bought this. I was worried it would be tippy but its very stable and looks great.

TP slips right on and it is a stable TP holder if you need a free-standing one. It's a simple concept that serves it's purpose well and is reasonably priced. We are happy with the purchase.

Q: how do you unload a roll when needed? Does the whole top unscrew?

A: There is nothing to unscrew. Just slide the roll over the end cap. When the roll is empty, slide the empty cardboard roll off over the end cap and replace it in the same manner.
