Hard to Cut

The finished effect of the tiles is great. We put the Backsplash around our fireplace, directly on top of ceramic tiles that were originally laid in. However, working with this product was challenging for several reasons. The suggestion that you can cut the tiles with scissors is false. The top layer is actual stone. Scissors were useless. We had to buy tin snips, which did work, but even then, you had to use a fair amount of force. Secondly, placing the tiles was tricky because the backing is very sticky. There is no moving the tiles around once they are down. We had some tight spots where we had to pull the tiles off and re-measure. It’s easy to damage the wall or the tiles.

Easy to install and gives high end look without the mess of grout. Great tips in the video. A tip I picked up along the way, when it comes to cutting a strip, measure and chose a strip where the stone is flat and thin (varies in degrees of thickness) where you need to cut. Much easier! I used heavy duty scissors and file to smooth off any rough edges. Also lay out your tiles and get a good mixture of light and dark stone for maximum effect. It is super sticky (mine has been up over a month and solid), so be cautious with your placement. Great product. I've purchased a second type for another project.

I bought this product for behind my stove. I planned on just a quick job ( so I did not stagger) to cover some imperfections on the wall as we plan on tilting this winter? I absolutely love it. I plan to do the whole backsplash. It was easy to cut with a pair of snips. I would recommend watching the video first.
