Q: What are the dimensions of the top flat-drying area when expanded and when not expanded?

A: The rack is small, suitable for small spaces and when you don't have lots of clothes to dry. It folds neatly and is easier stored--in the laundry room next to the dryer or a side corner. I don't exactly know the dimensions in terms of measurement etc, but it can hold one sweater on the top--it's narrow, not wide like the normal big racks. I usually lay two of my pants on the top. It's a nice dryer, but definitely not for big jobs. It suits me just fine.
