Success every time

The best time to apply this product in southern Ontario ( Zone 5) is Labour Day Weekend when days are shorter and weather is cooler and there is less weed. Follow the instruction on the package exactly. I also use Quali Grow Lawn Soil as mulch to keep the seeds moist. Follow the instruction on the bag as well. Seeds will start to germinate within 5 days. In about four weeks when grass is about 2 inches tall apply Scotts Turf Builder Starter Lawn Food For New Grass ( follow the instruction on the package ). Very happy with Scotts Sunny Mix Seeds.

Q: What is the seed blend and what should the Scott hand held spreader be set at for overseeding? Is the seed still effective if it has been stored for a few years?

A: The Scotts Turf Builder Sunny Mix is a mix of Abby Kentucky Bluegrass, Gaelic Kentucky Bluegrass and Brightstar SLT Perennial Ryegrass. When using a Scotts Handy Green Hand Held Spreader we recommend using a setting of 1 to overseed. You can lose 5%-7% germination every year after the seed is packaged.

Q: How can 1 kg cover 3300 sq ft of lawn? I'm shopping around and I see similar weights that cover different areas; Canada No. 1 Grass Seed is supposed to contain at minimum 85% grass seeds...most grass seed bags have this label.
