Product Details
Tuck Tape's blue construction sheathing tape offers a simple solution for sealings seams and protecting polyethylene vapour barriers. The solvent-based acrylic adhesive has been specially formulated to seal and protect PE vapour barriers, and is approved by the Canadian Construction Materials Center as the only recommended method for sealing seams in polyethylene vapour barrier film. Use this 60 mm wide by 55 metre long tape to quickly seal your vapour barrier against air leaks and moisture damage, keeping your building envelope weather-tight and your insulation dry.

Exceeded expectations

Used this tape to close off a brick chimney temporarily with heavy plastic while it awaited repairs. Fast forward through a nasty Canadian winter and this stuff was still weather proof and actually pretty tough to remove. Far exceeded my expectations

Q: Does this tape stick to cement?

A: It might stick to cement, if the surface is clean of dust and debris. However, we cannot guarantee it will stay on with time as it is not intended for this type of rough, porous surface.

Q: Why does the blue tuck tape indicate "for PE Vapor Barrier," while red and white tapes don't have "Vapor Barrier" in the designation part? From my experience, all three blue, red, and white tuck tapes perform the same well for both indoors and outdoors.

A: The red and white are for house wrap only, the blue can be used on house wrap (outside) or for vapour barrier (indoors). Therefore, blue is the only one to be used on vapour barrier. It has more glue. Sometimes vapour barrier plastic is greasy and therefore the blue is the requirement.
