This snowblower is JUNK!!!

I did the research and decided that this 3 stage 30" cut would be the answer to our wet snow, but I was wrong and I mean big time wrong!!! The first time I use it the cute blocked in the first minute and continued to do so until I cleared the driveway. After I got a silicone spray for the chute and wait for the next snow - the same as last - I spent as much time clearing the cute and the auger as it did clearing the driveway. I'm lucky because my driveway is only a double. Really, this is my third season with this blower and I can take it any more, Yesterday we had around 7 cm and this thing clogged up six times, absolute JUNK!!
I don't know it its the centre cutter it to close to the impeller and it just blocks up along with the cute. Maybe its the design, if the centre cutter was offset maybe it would not block as much. in addition, it keeps popping out of reverse and now the plastic slots are getting smaller (that is a cheap way to hold gear shifter) as well it does not always go into reverse. All I know I feel I have wasted my money (its not a cheap machine) and I am very disappointed with this product. My advice, stay away from this three stage product and stick with the two stage. I'm currently looking at two stage blowers and not considering a Troybilt

Don't use on gravel drivway..tires are horrible

thought if i had the cutting endge high enough i could avoid to many sheerpin replacements ..my drivway is small stone well compacted but it still seems to collect a lot of gravel no matter what i do.. and traction with the supplied tires is sub par

this is a beast... beautiful powerful snow blower

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have been using this for couple of months, but under heavy snow and it was capable of clearing snow including ice and packed snow of around 70cm height and 2-3 acres. on a rugged and steep surface.
I absolutely love the fact that each time i press the electric start button, it starts in 2 seconds. every time.
it is like it laughs at me when snow is below 30 cm height. so i need to disengage shooter and collect some snow and then reactivate shoot for maximum shooting distance :)
this machine is no joke and is designed for extreme conditions.
i changed the oil one time and i finally got the trick of checking oil level. and yes, it needs around 900ml to 1 L of 5w-30 synthetic oil.
in the manual it says 600 ml and it was really frustrating, so be aware of that.
use your mobile phone compass app to check if it is level on the ground. then add oil and check oil level.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) this machine is a beast. Tested in extreme conditions with 80cm of packed snow in a rugged cottage surface. this machine could throw the snow 20-30 meters away! unbelievable power.

Dès la moindre bosse, les roues patinent et on doit jouer avec les poignées de gauche à droite pour se libérer J'aurais dû les écouter. Je vois que maintenant, les roues ont de VRAI PNEUS. Tant pis pour moi. À 81 ans j'aimerais mettre la force qui me reste sur autre chose. HEUREUX les nouveaux propriétaires. C'EST POUR ÇA QUE JE LA RECOMMANDE.

A: The lever adjacent to the left hand grip has a button that, when depressed, engages the chute swivel and when rotated in a clockwise or counterclockwise motion will correspondingly move the chute to the right or left. The elevation of the chute "throw" is done by moving the lever forward or back to increase or decrease throw distance respectively.

A: If there's oil in the engine already it might be a sign of a return item. I'd bring it back and ask for another one. Open the box before you leave and ensure that there is no oil in the engine and a container with oil.

Q: what is the gears and gear box made from for the 3 stage 30" vortex by troy-bilt? I am wondering how the strength holds up to really heavy and hard packed snow and ice.

A: so far I have used it on packed snow and light snow with no issues.Even with packed snow it was able to throw the snow a good distance.I have not had the chance to use it with slushy snow.Even when the snow was higher than the machine itself I was able to clean it.I did however use it in first gear for deep snow.
