Troybilt Lawnmower

I purchased this Troybilt three weeks ago. Right out of the box it was very easy to set up. It is a very solid machine. It starts always on the first pull. I wish that I would have bought this lawnmower at the beginning of 2025 instead of limping my old Husquvarna that never did work decently. Overall the Troybilt is a great lawnmower and it should last me a very long time.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great lawn mower, , just moves to fast in self propelled,, should have had variable speed control

i have found that the troy built,, 3 in one ,, self.. propelled lawn mower, is a good mower ,, with the honda motor you cant go wrong,,, it starts easly with one pull,, how , ever, the only thing i have found is it moves a little too fast, it would be better if you could control the speed, because you have to really walk at a pretty good Pace to keep up to it when the self self propelled handle is engaged,, it would NOT be a good mower for some one that has trouble walking briskly,,, . it cuts well,, and the honda motor has lots of power,,,,, i like the idea that you dont have to push it ,, but , be prepared it moves quite fast in self propelled mode,, it should have a variable speed control to make it a fantastic mower,, it really chops the grass up fine, and you rarely have to use the bag,, i just mulch most of the time

Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was time to get a new mower and vendor highly recommended this model. I saw positive on line reviews so I purchased. This is one of the easiest mowers I have ever owned. Starts right away, easy to maneuver, cuts beautifully.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

Q: Are the wheels on this mower full ball bearing or are they the cheap junk like those used on the push more you build?

  • A: Thanks Walt. I did source some ball bearing wheels for this mower that are less than 15 bucks a piece. I agree its a great mower and lasts for a long time. Longer than the plastic collars in the wheels even with maintenance. LOL. I hope to get another ten years out of it with a set of new ball bearing wheels. The wheels supplied seem to be the only weakness. Thanks for the answer.

Q: on the handle bar there is an attachment for the pull cord after starting up the unit do I have to put the cord there again after the machine is running ? or leave the cord fully retracted. Just tell me the proper positioning of the pullcord.

  • A: The pullcord stays in the attachment holder all the time. So, if I understand you correctly, you never have to leave the cord full retracted.

Q: What is the HP rating for this mower? Only the engine size is given and this is not related to power

3 Answers
  • A: to get a close approximate, you divide the cc by 16. and then take that answer and divide by 2. it will get you close. so 160ccdivided by 16 equals 10. then take 10 divide by 2 equals 5. so it would be appr 5 hp

  • A: Hi Carolyn, This mower is an excellent choice for most applications, with easy starting, excellent maneuverability and front wheel self-propelled operation. For sloped lawns you might consider the additional traction of the all-wheel drive model #060-1545-4. Thank you,
