Good product. A little smelly initially. Just make sure to use a roller. Using a brush leaves marks don’t make my mistake. Thin coats. Two max.

A small can gose a long ways I was surprised I just bought more to do my fireplace the first was all the black around and under my fire place looks very nice only one coat if I can I will up date on how it hils out from walking on it

Q: Can I use it on the inside of the lid of my bbq?

A: Hi, Great question! Our Tremclad High Heat is recommended for the exterior of your BBQ only. We do not recommend it for the inside of the lid as the product can not withstand the amount of heat it will be exposed to. Unfortunately we do not have a product to recommend for your project.

Q: Woodstove was painted in August 2025 and when we use the woodstove the smell from the paint is still there. When does the smell go away? Worried about breathing this into our lungs?

A: I didn’t use primer. It’s not the first coat. Very good but doesn’t last that long. One small can goes a long way.

Q: Can I use this for the inside of my gas fireplace insert? It has rusted so I’d like to clean it up and paint it black.

A: I used it on the exterior brass of our wood fireplace and it worked beautifully no issues on any of the inside edges of the metal frame

A: I cannot see why not as long as u wipe down poles with a go cleaner like a paint thinner or paint gun wash so there is no oil on it should work great

A: A high-heat automotive paint would be recommended for painting brake calipers. Automotive high-heat paints have a higher heat threshold than Tremclad High Heat enamel.

Q: Can I use this on my baseboard heaters?

A: Hi Gabe, Our Tremclad High Heat requires a heat cure of a minimum of 350F, which the baseboard heaters may not reach when turned on. As long as the surface temperature does not exceed 200F, you can apply our regular Tremclad Rust Paint in the colour of your choice to your baseboard heaters.
