I bought this as a portable lunch pale for my husband, who was on site all day with no real access to a kitchen. He loves it and it hold surprisingly large amounts of food. If you put the food in hot it is hot several hours later. It is durable, compact and spacious. It is the first container that doesn't leak and is versatile. It is also very easy to clean and work with (filling, emptying, eating). I would say for the complaints about the cost, since I too balked at first...I bought cheaper versions and we had to contribute to the landfill and waste of resources, because they broke, were frustrating to use and did not provide the function that was needed. This is efficiently designed with high function and is enduring over the last months of use. I believe that you get what you pay for...
