I purchased these as an upgrade from my 10x25 tascos, but my 10x25 tascos are actually better. disappointed.

These binoculars greatly exceeded my expectations

For the price, I wasn't expecting miracles but I was very much surprised at the quality and the zoom capabilities of these Tasco binoculars. I could make out people window washing (in their safety cage dangling from the roof of a skyscraper) a downtown building from a very, very long way away. I could also tell the color of a jogger's hair, jacket, pants and even shoes from the other side of Glenmore Park here in South Calgary. Looking at deer lets you get up close to the point where hair patterns can be defined. Looking at trees across from a swamp in the same park, made it seem like I was sitting in the water in almost 3D like fashion. Everything was very well defined. They are not really for close up viewing however but rather shine for long distance viewing. They do require a steady hand or to be placed on a railing or something firm. I wish they had a screw mount for a monopod or a tripod and then they'd be perfect in my opinion. I also wish they had a better lanyard for the one attached is very thin like a shoelace. But one is better than none I suppose. It is also non-detachable. The cloth and neoprene case are nice to have out in the field. All in all, for the price, this is a fantastic purchase. Make someone very happy and get this as a gift. I can't wait to use these next spring from my convertible on trips to the mountains!

    Yes, I recommend this product.

16x zoom plus compact light weight size, best for this price range. And works well.

I have had these for about a year. I bought them on sale. I use them to spy on birds - both at my feeders and in the nature paths around Ottawa. They are the ultimate combination between good light, good magnification and real portability. Rugged construction, large aperture for great light for a great visibility, tight construction with solid focus. I have other compact brandname binoculars that do not even perform half as good as these. These are the ones to buy. Highly recommended.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Very good resolution. Nice and light. Seem to work well in low light conditions. These were given to me as a gift and I am quite impressed.

Q: does the lens fog when you use it in winter times?

    2 Answers
    • A: Set them outside in -15C temp for 2 hours and then tried them. The eyepiece fogged if I held them too close to my eyes. If I held them away a bit, they were OK. Fogged up when brought indoors after this. No different than wearing glasses.
