Fry using very little oil

Replacement for a 5 year old T-Fal Actifry

We got our first Actifry 5 years ago and we used it at least 5 days a week. There is just the two of us so the Actifry works much better than using our oven. The last 6-7 months our old fryer started having a tougher and tougher time with small parts breaking and it continued to get louder and louder. The new model we recently bought has some nice upgrades; - larger overall size/cooks more - ability to change temps - a smart stirring paddle that destroys much less food as it softens and cooks - a quieter device overall - the raised center flute means we can fill more liquid foods inside the cooking pan - nice viewing window - easier to clean We continue to use this instead of our oven and use it to reheat things instead of having a microwave. We are hopeful that this machine will last as long as the last one, if not longer.

Actifry is one of my favourite appliances

This is not my first actifry! My first when I bought mini years ago when they first came on the market. I now can’t live without the machine and my my last one broke. I replaced it immediately. The new ActiFry is smaller than my last one but the pan is deeper, so it has roughly the same capacity. I have found that I have to cook roasted vegetables longer than I used to, probably because of the depth of the vegetables in the pan. The only thing I don’t like is the filter in the base of the actifry. I have cut myself quite badly on it twice when removing it to clean it. There is obviously something fairly sharp on the bottom edge. I have learned my lesson though and I now use a cloth to remove the filter! On the whole, I heartily recommend the ActiFry and most of my family and many friends have purchased an ActiFry over the years, on my recommendation. Everyone raves over the results!

We bought this to replace an older version which we loved and finally died. My daughter had given it to us after she had well used it and then we used it a lot. We love the new air fryer. It does a terrific job with fries, chicken, etc. My husband loves his fried foods and didn’t want to give up his oil deep fryer, but high cholesterol necessitated it. He finds he enjoys the air fryer much more. And less mess, much easier to clean after use. I heartily recommend this air fryer.

Poor built doesn't turn on

I bought this a month ago. Half the time when I own the lid to add food into the pan and close it back up, the machine will not turn on again. There is no on/off switch. I have to wait after unplugging the machine to have it turned on again. It's like it got too hot and it needed a break. The thing is I was only using it for no more than 10 minutes. Not too mention that it's an expensive air-fryer.

No, I do not recommend this product.
