I have the exact same auger, only 6”, but I wanted the 8” one. It worked fine, but obviously more effort to drill a hole as it is now 33% larger. I have since bought the adaptor for an electric drill, but due to ice conditions, will have to wait to 2026 to try the adaptor. Anyway, the auger is a good product, do not hesitate to purchase is my opinion.

First time ice fishing. I found this auger easy to use. Apart from a little beginner fumbling at the start, I managed to cut through about 6 inches of ice in about 1 minute. The auger is also light in weight. So far no complaints.

Don’t buy it- buy a rapalla instead . Cheaper and much better

Absolute worst auger I’ve ever used , right out of box it was useless . Ended up buying a rapalla 6inch and it cuts through it like a hot knife through butter . I think the angle of the blades on the 8 inch doesn’t allow it to make a very good cut or any cut at all!
