Cheap plastic parts used on the brakes

Found this bike on the curb of a neighbours house with a sign that said "Free" on it. It looked like it was purchased this year. Everything looks new on it, no rust, no scratches. Decided to grab it for my wife who needed a new bike. Got it back home and realized the rear brakes weren't working because the low-grade plastic used on the return spring was cracked. It was sad to see poor quality put into the brakes of all things. Also realized that the back wheel wobbled since it was never trued. and the gears are extremely difficult to change. I've been an avid mountain biker for the last 30 years, so I've seen my share of issues and learned to fix bikes on my own. I wouldnt buy this for a kid or anyone that was concerned about safety. Supercycles use to be heavy, but rigid. Unfortunately now, they're just heavy.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Q: Does it come assembled or in a box? If in a box, how big is it? Can it be transported behind a Corolla? Please Advise!

  • A: Bike comes assembled. Got it for my 10yr old daughter. It is 26” for tires! Should be ok if you have a bike rack. My daughter loves it!!   We bought it on regular price and two weeks later, it was $100 off. CT refunded as on sale price.
