Kettle overheats and won't shut itself off. Continues to boil and is so hot you burn yourself to shut off or pick up the handle. Very unsafe product as a result.

This kettle works as described, very well. A bit smaller physically than the competitor’s , but still has the same capacity. It looks great and is much easier to put back on the base than other’s are. Matches other appliances very well. The thing I like most about it is the wife is very happy with it, and that’s what counts most.
You will like it also.

Q: It takes ten minutes for water to boil when filled upto max level and for kettle to auto shut off ..shouldn’t it be faster ?? Our old kettle used to get the job done in 5mins

A: It took 2 mins and 56 seconds to boil 3/4 litre of water. I estimate that 1.7 litres should take about 7 minutes. Maybe you have a lemon.

Q: Does the water come in contact with plastic? Is any of the interior, the lid and spout made of plastic?

Q: Is the large piece of plastic water gauge on the Sunbeam Designer Series stainless steel kettle model BVSBKT1803-033 BPA-free? Virtually all the water you boil will come into contact with this plastic piece.
