A: Buffing wheels can load up at the best of times. An 8” one likely will kill the grinder pretty quickly, and/or not give good results.

Q: Can this be used to sand out a rough spot in my concrete floor, which is about 3 x 4 inches wide and about 1/6 inch higher than floor? An orbital sander did not work.

A: Yes, you can use SKIL Angle Grinder (054-7118-2) to sand out the concrete. Compared to sanding paper of the orbital sander, the blade of this grinder is easier to work on hard materials, such as concrete, metal, wood, etc.

Q: I bought Model 9294 and the owner's manual talks only of grinding and sanding. Is this tool not meant for cutting operations as well, say, steel cutting?

A: Yes, you can cut steel with this grinder if you change the stone to a thin cutting stone. Please wear a face shield! Cut straight and slowly and steadily, no jerky motions. Do not drop the grinder and potentially damage the cutting stone, which will then explode when used. I have seen these stones shatter, it is not a pretty sight. Use with elevated caution.
